Ingredients
- 4 large egg whites
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon white vinegar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
- Fresh fruits for topping (e.g., strawberries, kiwi, passion fruit)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form.
- Gradually add the granulated sugar, cornstarch, white vinegar, and vanilla extract to the egg whites, and continue to beat until the mixture is glossy.
- Spoon the meringue onto the prepared baking sheet, shaping it into a round disc with slightly raised edges.
- Place the meringue in the oven and immediately reduce the temperature to 250°F (120°C). Bake for 1 hour, then turn off the oven and let the meringue cool completely inside the oven.
- In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream and powdered sugar until soft peaks form.
- Spread the whipped cream over the cooled meringue and top with fresh fruits.
