Mien Ga
Mien ga is a delicious Vietnamese chicken noodle soup that is packed with flavor and perfect for a comforting meal.
Ingredients
- 1 whole chicken, cut into pieces
- 8 cups water
- 1 onion, peeled and halved
- 2 inches fresh ginger, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, smashed
- 1 tablespoon fish sauce
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 8 oz mien noodles
- 2 green onions, chopped
- 1/4 cup cilantro, chopped
- 1 lime, cut into wedges
Instructions
- In a large pot, bring the water to a boil. Add the chicken pieces, onion, ginger, and garlic. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 45 minutes.
- Remove the chicken from the pot and shred the meat. Discard the bones and skin.
- Add fish sauce and salt to the broth. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
- Cook the mien noodles according to the package instructions.
- To serve, divide the cooked noodles into bowls. Top with shredded chicken, green onions, and cilantro. Ladle the hot broth over the noodles and chicken. Serve with lime wedges.
