Ingredients

  • 4 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 package of store-bought phyllo dough

Instructions

  1. In a large saucepan, combine the milk, sugar, cornstarch, and salt. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens and comes to a boil.
  2. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and ground cinnamon. Add the unsalted butter and stir until melted.
  3. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Layer half of the phyllo dough sheets in a greased baking dish, brushing each sheet with melted butter.
  4. Pour the milk mixture over the phyllo dough. Layer the remaining phyllo dough sheets on top, brushing each sheet with melted butter.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
  6. Allow the milk pie to cool before serving. Sprinkle with additional cinnamon if desired.
