Ingredients

  • 1 package of puff pastry
  • 1 lb thinly sliced beef
  • 1 cup sliced shiitake mushrooms
  • 1 cup napa cabbage, chopped
  • 4 cups dashi broth
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons mirin
  • 2 green onions, sliced

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F. Roll out the puff pastry and cut into 12 equal rectangles. Place on a baking sheet and bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
  2. In a nabe pot or large skillet, layer the sliced beef, mushrooms, and napa cabbage. Pour the dashi broth, soy sauce, and mirin over the ingredients.
  3. Cover and simmer over medium heat for 20 minutes, or until the beef is cooked through and the vegetables are tender.
  4. To assemble, place a puff pastry rectangle on a plate, then spoon the hot pot mixture over it. Repeat the layers, finishing with a puff pastry rectangle on top.
  5. Garnish with sliced green onions and serve hot.
