Millet And Ginger Drink (kunu Zaki Smoothie)

Ingredients

  • 1 cup millet
  • 1/4 cup sliced ginger
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 4 cups water

Instructions

  1. In a pot, dry roast the millet over medium heat for 5 minutes, stirring constantly.
  2. Transfer the roasted millet to a blender and blend into a fine powder.
  3. In the same pot, combine the blended millet, sliced ginger, sugar, and water.
  4. Cook over medium heat for 5 minutes, stirring constantly until it thickens slightly.
  5. Remove from heat and let it cool.
  6. Strain the mixture through a fine sieve or cheesecloth to remove any solids.
  7. Refrigerate the drink until chilled.
