Minced Meat With Peas (kheema Matar)

Ingredients

  • 500g minced meat
  • 1 cup peas
  • 2 onions, finely chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, pureed
  • 2 green chilies, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Once they splutter, add the chopped onions and green chilies. Sauté until the onions are golden brown.
  2. Add the ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a few minutes.
  3. Now, add the minced meat and cook until it changes color and the moisture evaporates.
  4. Stir in the tomato puree, red chili powder, turmeric powder, ground coriander, ground cumin, and salt. Cook for 5-7 minutes.
  5. Add the peas and cook for another 5 minutes until the peas are tender.
  6. Sprinkle garam masala and garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.
