Minced Meat With Peas (mughlai Keema Matar)

Ingredients

  • 500g minced meat
  • 1 cup peas
  • 2 onions, finely chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, pureed
  • 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 4-5 green cardamom pods
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1/2 cup yogurt
  • 2 tbsp ghee (clarified butter) or oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat ghee or oil in a pan and add cumin seeds, cinnamon stick, and cardamom pods. Sauté until fragrant.
  2. Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
  3. Add ginger-garlic paste and cook for 2 minutes.
  4. Stir in the minced meat and cook until it changes color.
  5. Add the pureed tomatoes, red chili powder, turmeric powder, and salt. Cook until the tomatoes are well cooked and the oil separates.
  6. Whisk the yogurt and add it to the pan. Cook for a few minutes until the yogurt is well incorporated.
  7. Add the peas and cook for 5-7 minutes until the peas are tender.
  8. Sprinkle garam masala and mix well. Cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  9. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with naan or rice.
