Mixed Vegetable Patty (vegetable Cutlet)

Ingredients

  • 2 large potatoes, boiled and mashed
  • 1 cup mixed vegetables (carrots, peas, beans), finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • 2 green chilies, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon ginger paste
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • Water as needed
  • Bread crumbs for coating
  • Oil for shallow frying

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the mashed potatoes, mixed vegetables, bread crumbs, green chilies, ginger paste, garam masala, red chili powder, turmeric powder, and salt. Mix well to form a dough.
  2. Divide the dough into equal-sized portions and shape them into patties.
  3. In a small bowl, mix the all-purpose flour with water to make a thin batter.
  4. Dip each patty in the flour batter and then coat it with bread crumbs.
  5. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat for shallow frying.
  6. Place the coated patties in the pan and cook until golden brown on both sides.
  7. Remove the patties from the pan and place them on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
  8. Serve the mixed vegetable patties hot with chutney or ketchup.
