Ingredients
- 12 fresh Miyajima oysters, shucked
- 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tablespoon Japanese mayonnaise
- 1/4 teaspoon soy sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon mirin
- 1/4 teaspoon sake
- 1 green onion, finely chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon sesame seeds
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a small bowl, combine the panko breadcrumbs, melted butter, and a pinch of salt. Mix well.
- Place the shucked oysters on a baking sheet.
- Top each oyster with a dollop of Japanese mayonnaise and a sprinkle of the breadcrumb mixture.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes, or until the breadcrumbs are golden brown and the oysters are cooked through.
- In the meantime, prepare the sauce by mixing together the soy sauce, mirin, sake, green onion, and sesame seeds in a small bowl.
- Once the oysters are done, remove them from the oven and drizzle the sauce over each oyster.
