Ingredients

  • 12 fresh Miyajima oysters, shucked
  • 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs

  • 1 tablespoon Japanese mayonnaise
  • 1/4 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon mirin
  • 1/4 teaspoon sake
  • 1 green onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon sesame seeds
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a small bowl, combine the panko breadcrumbs, melted butter, and a pinch of salt. Mix well.
  3. Place the shucked oysters on a baking sheet.
  4. Top each oyster with a dollop of Japanese mayonnaise and a sprinkle of the breadcrumb mixture.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes, or until the breadcrumbs are golden brown and the oysters are cooked through.
