Ingredients
- 1 package of seitan (16 oz)
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/4 teaspoon five-spice powder
- 2 cups vegetable broth
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons water
- Sesame seeds and green onions for garnish
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix together the soy sauce, rice vinegar, maple syrup, sesame oil, ginger, garlic, and five-spice powder.
- Cut the seitan into bite-sized pieces and add them to the marinade. Let it marinate for 15 minutes.
- In a large skillet, bring the vegetable broth to a simmer. Add the marinated seitan and simmer for 20 minutes.
- In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch and water to create a slurry. Add the slurry to the skillet and stir until the sauce thickens.
- Serve the mock duck over rice and garnish with sesame seeds and green onions.
