Momos Thukpa (tibetan Style Dumpling Soup)
Momos Thukpa is a traditional Tibetan dish that combines the delicious flavors of dumplings and soup. This hearty and comforting meal is perfect for a cozy night in or to warm up on a chilly day.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground chicken
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup cabbage, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup carrots, grated
- 1/4 cup green onions, finely chopped
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp ginger, minced
- 1 tbsp garlic, minced
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 6 cups chicken broth
- 1/2 cup spinach, chopped
- 1/4 cup cilantro, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix the ground chicken, cabbage, carrots, green onions, soy sauce, ginger, garlic, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. This will be the filling for the dumplings.
- On a clean surface, place the all-purpose flour and gradually add water to form a smooth dough. Roll the dough into a log and cut it into small pieces. Roll each piece into a thin circle to make the dumpling wrappers.
- Place a spoonful of the chicken filling in the center of each wrapper. Fold and pleat the edges to seal the dumplings.
- In a large pot, bring the chicken broth to a boil. Add the dumplings and cook for 10-12 minutes, or until they float to the surface.
- Add the spinach and cilantro to the pot and simmer for an additional 5 minutes. Adjust the seasoning with salt and pepper.
- Divide the dumplings and soup into serving bowls and enjoy hot.
