Mongolian BBQ Chicken Skewers, known as Мандах хуушуур in Mongolian, are a delicious and flavorful dish that is perfect for grilling. These skewers are marinated in a savory and slightly sweet sauce, then grilled to perfection, resulting in juicy and tender chicken with a hint of smokiness.
Ingredients
- 1.5 lbs (700g) chicken breast, cut into cubes
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Wooden skewers, soaked in water
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix together the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, honey, garlic, ginger, and vegetable oil to make the marinade.
- Add the chicken cubes to the marinade and let it marinate for at least 1 hour in the refrigerator.
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
- Thread the marinated chicken cubes onto the soaked wooden skewers.
- Season the skewers with salt and pepper.
- Grill the skewers for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until the chicken is cooked through and has a nice char.
- Remove from the grill and let the skewers rest for a few minutes before serving.
