Mongolian BBQ Tofu Skewers (Тофу)

Ingredients

  • 1 block of firm tofu, cut into cubes
  • 1 red bell pepper, cut into chunks
  • 1 green bell pepper, cut into chunks
  • 1 onion, cut into chunks
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Wooden skewers, soaked in water

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix together the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, brown sugar, ginger, and garlic to make the marinade.
  2. Thread the tofu, bell peppers, and onion onto the soaked wooden skewers.
  3. Season the skewers with salt and pepper, then brush them with the marinade.
  4. Heat a grill pan or stovetop grill over medium-high heat. Grill the skewers for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until the tofu is golden and the vegetables are tender.
  5. Serve the skewers hot, with any remaining marinade on the side for dipping.
