Говьтай гурилтай хуушуур (Mongolian Beef and Bell Pepper Stir-Fry) is a classic Mongolian dish that is quick and easy to make. This flavorful stir-fry features tender beef, crisp bell peppers, and a savory sauce that is perfect for serving over steamed rice.
Ingredients
- 1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced
- 2 bell peppers, thinly sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, and beef broth. Set aside.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat. Add the sliced beef and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
- Heat the remaining 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in the same skillet. Add the garlic, onion, and bell peppers. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp.
- Return the cooked beef to the skillet. Pour the sauce over the beef and vegetables. Stir-fry for another 1-2 minutes until everything is heated through and well coated with the sauce.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve the stir-fry hot over steamed rice.
