Mongolian Beef and Broccoli (Говь наргины хуушуур)
Говь наргины хуушуур (Mongolian Beef and Broccoli) is a classic Mongolian dish that combines tender beef and fresh broccoli in a savory and slightly sweet sauce. This dish is quick and easy to prepare, making it perfect for a weeknight dinner.
Ingredients
- 1 lb beef, thinly sliced
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup water
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, brown sugar, and sesame oil. Set aside.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat. Add the beef and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
- Add the broccoli and garlic to the skillet and stir-fry for 2 minutes.
- Return the beef to the skillet, pour in the sauce mixture and water. Stir-fry for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the beef and broccoli.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Remove from heat and serve hot.
