Mongolian Beef and Carrot Stir-Fry (Говьтай гурилтай хуушуур)

Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450g) beef, thinly sliced
  • 2 large carrots, julienned
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Heat 1 tbsp of vegetable oil in a large skillet over high heat.
  2. Add the beef and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Heat the remaining 1 tbsp of vegetable oil in the skillet. Add the garlic, onion, and carrots, and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp.
  4. Return the beef to the skillet. Add the soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, and black pepper. Stir-fry for another 2 minutes to combine all the flavors.
  5. Remove from heat and serve hot.
