Mongolian Beef and Mushroom Stir-Fry (Говьтай ногоон гурилтай хуушуур)

Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups mushrooms, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, and cornstarch. Set aside.
  2. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat.
  3. Add the beef and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add the garlic, onion, and mushrooms. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until the vegetables are tender.
  5. Return the beef to the skillet and pour the sauce over the beef and vegetables. Stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce has thickened.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
