Говьтай ногоон гурилтай хуушуур (Mongolian Beef and Mushroom Stir-Fry) is a classic Mongolian dish that combines tender beef, flavorful mushrooms, and a savory sauce. This stir-fry is quick and easy to make, making it perfect for a weeknight dinner.
Ingredients
- 1 lb beef, thinly sliced
- 2 cups mushrooms, sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 onion, sliced
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, and cornstarch. Set aside.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat.
- Add the beef and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the garlic, onion, and mushrooms. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until the vegetables are tender.
- Return the beef to the skillet and pour the sauce over the beef and vegetables. Stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce has thickened.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve the Mongolian Beef and Mushroom Stir-Fry hot with steamed rice.
