Ingredients
- 1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 head butter lettuce, leaves separated
Instructions
- Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the sliced flank steak and cook until browned, then transfer to a plate.
- Heat the remaining 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in the same skillet.
- Add the onion, garlic, and red bell pepper, and cook until softened.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, ginger, and red pepper flakes.
- Return the cooked steak to the skillet and pour the sauce over the beef and vegetables. Cook for a few more minutes until heated through.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Spoon the beef mixture into the lettuce leaves and serve.
