Mongolian Beef Momo (Buryat: Момо)

Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 package dumpling wrappers
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup water
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix together the ground beef, onion, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper.
- Place a small spoonful of the beef mixture in the center of a dumpling wrapper. Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water, then fold the wrapper in half and press the edges together to seal.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Place the dumplings in the skillet in a single layer and cook until the bottoms are golden brown, about 2 minutes.
- Pour the water into the skillet and cover with a lid. Allow the dumplings to steam until the filling is cooked through and the wrappers are tender, about 8-10 minutes.
- Remove the lid and continue cooking until any remaining water has evaporated and the bottoms of the dumplings are crispy.
- Serve the Buryat Момо hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
