Mongolian Hot Pot (Бууз)

Ingredients

  • 500g ground beef
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 head of cabbage, finely chopped
  • 1 carrot, grated

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix the ground beef, onion, garlic, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
  2. In a separate bowl, combine the flour and water to form a dough. Knead the dough for 5 minutes, then cover and let it rest for 15 minutes.
  3. Divide the dough into small balls and roll each ball into a thin circle.
  4. Place a spoonful of the meat mixture in the center of each dough circle, then add a spoonful of the chopped cabbage and grated carrot.
  5. Fold the dough over the filling and pinch the edges to seal, creating a half-moon shape.
  6. Place the бууз in a steamer and steam for 20 minutes, or until the dough is cooked through.
  7. Serve the бууз hot and enjoy!
