Mongolian Lamb Dumplings (Бууз)

Ingredients

  • 500g ground lamb
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 package dumpling wrappers
  • Water for sealing the dumplings

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix the ground lamb, chopped onion, minced garlic, grated ginger, soy sauce, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
  2. Place a small spoonful of the lamb mixture in the center of each dumpling wrapper.
  3. Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water, then fold the wrapper in half and press the edges together to seal the dumpling.
  4. Repeat with the remaining wrappers and lamb mixture.
  5. Bring a large pot of water to a boil and add the dumplings.
  6. Cook the dumplings for about 8-10 minutes, or until they float to the surface and are cooked through.
  7. Remove the dumplings from the pot with a slotted spoon and serve hot.
