Шонхор (Mongolian Lamb Skewers) is a traditional dish in Mongolian cuisine, known for its flavorful and tender chunks of lamb grilled to perfection.
Ingredients
- 1.5 lbs lamb, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tbsp honey
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp ginger, grated
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1 onion, cut into chunks
- 1 bell pepper, cut into chunks
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix the soy sauce, honey, garlic, ginger, black pepper, and vegetable oil.
- Add the lamb cubes to the marinade and let it sit for at least 1 hour in the refrigerator.
- Thread the marinated lamb, onion, and bell pepper onto skewers.
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat and grill the skewers for about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until the lamb is cooked to your desired doneness.
- Serve the шонхор hot with rice or flatbread.
