- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons water
Instructions
- In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, 1/2 cup water, and brown sugar.
- In a small saucepan, heat the soy sauce mixture over medium heat.
- Add the minced garlic and grated ginger to the saucepan and bring to a simmer.
- In a separate bowl, mix the cornstarch and 2 tablespoons of water to create a slurry.
- Pour the slurry into the saucepan and stir until the sauce thickens, about 2-3 minutes.
- Remove from heat and let the Mongolian sauce cool before using or storing.
