Ingredients
- 1 block of firm tofu, drained and cut into cubes
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup water
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 2 green onions, chopped
Instructions
- In a large bowl, toss the tofu cubes with cornstarch until evenly coated.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the tofu cubes and cook until golden and crispy on all sides. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add garlic and ginger. Cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Stir in soy sauce, water, brown sugar, and sesame oil. Bring to a simmer and cook for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
- Return the crispy tofu to the skillet and toss to coat with the sauce. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
- Sprinkle with chopped green onions before serving.
