Mongolian Yak Meatballs (Buryat: Гоёмс)

Ingredients
- 1 lb ground yak meat
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup bread crumbs
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp cumin
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the ground yak meat, onion, garlic, bread crumbs, egg, milk, salt, black pepper, cumin, and parsley. Mix until well combined.
- Form the mixture into meatballs, about 1.5 inches in diameter.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the meatballs to the skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes, turning occasionally, until browned on all sides and cooked through.
- Remove the meatballs from the skillet and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil.
- Serve the meatballs hot, garnished with additional parsley if desired.
