Moo Ping (lao-style Grilled Pork Chops)
Moo Ping is a popular Lao street food dish consisting of marinated and grilled pork chops. The marinade infuses the pork with a sweet and savory flavor, while grilling gives it a delicious smoky char. This recipe is perfect for a summer barbecue or a simple weeknight dinner.
Ingredients
- 4 pork chops
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons fish sauce
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 4 bamboo skewers, soaked in water
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix together the garlic, fish sauce, soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, black pepper, and vegetable oil to make the marinade.
- Add the pork chops to the marinade, making sure they are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight for best results.
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Thread the marinated pork chops onto the soaked bamboo skewers.
- Grill the pork chops for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they are cooked through and have a nice char on the outside.
- Remove the pork chops from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes before serving.
