Moo Shu Chicken (木须鸡)
木须鸡 (Moo Shu Chicken) is a classic American Chinese dish with tender chicken, crisp vegetables, and savory hoisin sauce, all wrapped in delicate Mandarin pancakes.
Ingredients
- 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 2 cups shredded cabbage
- 1 cup shredded carrots
- 8 Mandarin pancakes
- 2 green onions, thinly sliced
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
Instructions
- In a small bowl, mix the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil. Set aside.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook until no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes.
- Add the onion, cabbage, and carrots to the skillet. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, until the vegetables are tender-crisp.
- Pour the sauce over the chicken and vegetables. Stir to coat everything evenly and cook for 1-2 minutes.
- Warm the Mandarin pancakes according to the package instructions.
- To serve, spoon the chicken and vegetable mixture onto the center of a pancake. Sprinkle with green onions and sesame seeds, then fold the sides over the filling and roll up.
