Mordovian Apple Strudel

Ingredients

  • 4 large apples, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced

  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • 1/4 cup bread crumbs
  • 1 package (17.3 ounces) puff pastry sheets, thawed

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples, sugar, cinnamon, raisins, and chopped walnuts.
  3. Roll out the puff pastry sheets on a lightly floured surface.
  4. Sprinkle the bread crumbs over the pastry sheets.
  5. Spread the apple mixture over the pastry sheets.
  6. Roll up the pastry sheets with the apple filling, and place them seam-side down on a baking sheet.
