Moroccan Mint Tea Panna Cotta

Ingredients

  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons loose Moroccan mint tea leaves
  • 1 tablespoon unflavored gelatin
  • 1/4 cup cold water

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, heat the heavy cream and sugar over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
  2. Add the Moroccan mint tea leaves to the cream mixture, remove from heat, and let steep for 10 minutes.
  3. In a small bowl, sprinkle the gelatin over the cold water and let it soften for 5 minutes.
  4. Reheat the cream mixture until it is hot but not boiling. Remove from heat and strain out the tea leaves.
  5. Stir in the softened gelatin until completely dissolved.
  6. Pour the mixture into ramekins or molds and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or until set.
  7. To serve, dip the bottom of each ramekin in hot water for a few seconds, then run a knife around the edge to loosen the panna cotta. Invert onto a plate to unmold.
