Mouthwatering Kymyz Sorbet (Кымызный сорбет)
Kymyzny sorbet is a delightful frozen treat that originates from Kyrgyzstan. This mouthwatering sorbet is made with the traditional fermented mare's milk, known as kymyz, and is a perfect way to enjoy the unique flavors of Kyrgyz cuisine.
Ingredients
- 2 cups kymyz
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup water
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, combine the sugar and water. Heat over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the sugar is completely dissolved. Remove from heat and let it cool.
- In a large bowl, mix the kymyz and the cooled sugar syrup until well combined.
- Pour the mixture into a shallow dish and place it in the freezer.
- Every 30 minutes, take the dish out of the freezer and stir the mixture with a fork to break up any ice crystals. Repeat this process for about 4 hours, or until the sorbet is firm and scoopable.
- Once the sorbet is ready, scoop it into serving dishes and enjoy!
