Mozambican Fish Balls (Bolinhos de Peixe Moçambicanos)

Ingredients

  • 500g fresh fish fillets, deboned and finely chopped
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the chopped fish, onion, garlic, cumin, paprika, salt, and cilantro. Mix well.
  2. Shape the fish mixture into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter.
  3. Place the flour, beaten eggs, and breadcrumbs into three separate shallow dishes.
  4. Dip each fish ball into the flour, then the beaten eggs, and finally coat with breadcrumbs.
