Mughlai Mutton Korma
Mughlai Mutton Korma is a rich and flavorful dish from the Mughlai cuisine, known for its aromatic spices and creamy texture. This royal dish is a perfect choice for special occasions and gatherings.
Ingredients
- 500g mutton, cut into pieces
- 1 cup yogurt
- 1/2 cup fried onions
- 1/4 cup cashew nuts
- 1/4 cup almonds
- 2 tbsp ghee
- 2 onions, finely chopped
- 2 tomatoes, pureed
- 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 1/2 tsp saffron strands
- 2 tbsp fresh cream
- Salt to taste
- Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
Instructions
- Marinate the mutton with yogurt, fried onions, and salt. Keep it aside for 30 minutes.
- Grind the cashew nuts and almonds into a fine paste.
- Heat ghee in a pan and sauté the chopped onions until golden brown.
- Add the ginger-garlic paste and cook until the raw smell disappears.
- Now, add the marinated mutton and cook until it changes color.
- Stir in the tomato puree, red chili powder, turmeric powder, and garam masala. Cook for 5 minutes.
- Pour in the cashew-almond paste and saffron strands. Mix well.
- Add water as needed, cover, and cook until the mutton is tender.
- Finish by adding fresh cream and garnish with coriander leaves.
