Ingredients
- 1/2 cup basmati rice
- 4 cups whole milk
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom
- 1/4 teaspoon saffron threads
- 2 tablespoons rose water
- Chopped pistachios and almonds for garnish
Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine the rice and 2 cups of milk. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the rice is tender and the mixture has thickened, about 20 minutes.
- Stir in the remaining 2 cups of milk, sugar, cardamom, and saffron. Cook for an additional 10 minutes, stirring frequently.
- Remove the pudding from the heat and stir in the rose water. Allow it to cool slightly before transferring to serving dishes.
- Refrigerate the pudding for at least 2 hours before serving. Garnish with chopped pistachios and almonds before serving.
