Muhallabia (saudi Arabian Spiced Rice Pudding)

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup basmati rice
  • 4 cups almond milk
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon rose water
  • Chopped pistachios and almonds for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine the basmati rice and almond milk. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the rice is tender and the mixture has thickened.
  2. Stir in the sugar, ground cardamom, ground cinnamon, and rose water. Cook for an additional 5 minutes, stirring constantly.
