Muhallabia (sweet Vermicelli With Cardamom)
Muhallabia is a traditional Kuwaiti dessert made with sweet vermicelli and flavored with cardamom. It's a delicious and comforting treat that is perfect for satisfying your sweet tooth.
Ingredients
- 1 cup vermicelli
- 4 cups milk
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom
- Chopped pistachios for garnish
Instructions
- In a pan, dry roast the vermicelli until golden brown.
- Heat the milk in a separate pot over medium heat.
- Add the roasted vermicelli to the milk and let it simmer for 10 minutes.
- Stir in the sugar and ground cardamom, and continue to simmer for another 5-7 minutes until the vermicelli is cooked and the mixture thickens.
- Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
- Pour the muhallabia into serving bowls and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
- Garnish with chopped pistachios before serving.
