Ingredients

  • 1 cup vermicelli
  • 4 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • Chopped pistachios for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a pan, dry roast the vermicelli until golden brown.
  2. Heat the milk in a separate pot over medium heat.
  3. Add the roasted vermicelli to the milk and let it simmer for 10 minutes.
  4. Stir in the sugar and ground cardamom, and continue to simmer for another 5-7 minutes until the vermicelli is cooked and the mixture thickens.
  5. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
  6. Pour the muhallabia into serving bowls and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
  7. Garnish with chopped pistachios before serving.
