Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, boil the cassava chunks until tender, about 15-20 minutes. Drain and let cool.
  2. In a bowl, mix the flour, salt, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  3. Dredge the cooled cassava chunks in the flour mixture, ensuring they are well coated.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  5. Fry the coated cassava chunks in the hot oil until golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes per side.
  6. Remove the fritters from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  7. Serve the muhogo za kukaanga hot and crispy.
