Multani Chicken Karahi (ملتانی چکن کڑاہی)

Ingredients

  • 1 kg chicken, cut into pieces
  • 3 tomatoes, finely chopped
  • 2 onions, sliced
  • 1/4 cup yogurt
  • 4-5 green chilies, sliced
  • 1/4 cup cooking oil
  • 2 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a karahi or deep cooking pan.
  2. Add sliced onions and sauté until golden brown.
  3. Add ginger garlic paste and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Add chicken pieces and cook until they change color.
  5. Then add chopped tomatoes, yogurt, and all the spices. Cook on medium heat until the tomatoes are softened and the oil separates.
  6. Add green chilies and garam masala, and cook for another 5 minutes.
  7. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot.
