Ingredients

  • 2 cups besan (gram flour)
  • 1 cup ghee (clarified butter)
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder
  • 2 tablespoons chopped almonds and pistachios

Instructions

  1. In a heavy-bottomed pan, roast besan and ghee over low heat until it turns golden brown and aromatic. This will take about 15-20 minutes.
  2. In a separate pan, combine sugar and water. Cook over medium heat until it reaches a one-string consistency.
  3. Pour the sugar syrup into the roasted besan and ghee mixture. Add cardamom powder and mix well.
  4. Quickly spread the mixture onto a greased surface and sprinkle chopped almonds and pistachios on top.
  5. Let it cool for a few minutes, then cut into pieces using a sharp knife.
  6. Allow the Multani Sohan Papdi to cool completely before serving.
