Ingredients
- 1 cup wheat flour
- 1 cup ghee (clarified butter)
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 cup mixed nuts (almonds, pistachios, cashews)
- 1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder
Instructions
- In a heavy-bottomed pan, heat the ghee over medium heat.
- Add the wheat flour and roast it in the ghee until it turns golden brown and aromatic.
- In a separate pan, combine the sugar and water to make a syrup. Cook until it reaches a one-string consistency.
- Pour the sugar syrup into the roasted wheat flour and ghee mixture. Stir continuously to avoid lumps.
- Add the mixed nuts and cardamom powder, and continue to cook the mixture until it thickens and leaves the sides of the pan.
- Pour the hot mixture into a greased plate and spread it evenly. Let it cool and set for a few hours.
- Cut the set halwa into squares or diamonds and serve.
