Ingredients
- 1 cup split mung beans
- 1 cup ghee
- 1 cup sugar
- 4 cups milk
- 1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder
- 1/4 cup chopped nuts (almonds, cashews, pistachios)
Instructions
- Wash the mung beans and soak them in water for 2 hours. Then, drain the water.
- Grind the mung beans into a coarse paste using a food processor or blender.
- Heat ghee in a heavy-bottomed pan and add the ground mung beans. Cook on low heat, stirring continuously, until the mixture turns golden brown.
- Meanwhile, in another pan, heat the milk and let it simmer until it reduces to half the quantity.
- Add the reduced milk to the cooked mung beans and mix well. Cook for another 10-15 minutes.
- Add sugar and cardamom powder, and continue to cook until the mixture thickens and leaves the sides of the pan.
- Garnish with chopped nuts and serve hot.
