Ingredients

  • 2 lbs ripe apricots, pitted and chopped
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, combine the chopped apricots, sugar, water, and lemon juice.
  2. Place the pot over medium heat and bring the mixture to a simmer, stirring occasionally.
  3. Once the mixture starts to simmer, reduce the heat to low and let it cook for about 20-25 minutes, or until the apricots are tender and the mixture has thickened to a jam-like consistency.
  4. Stir in the ground cardamom and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
  5. Remove the pot from the heat and let the murabba cool to room temperature.
  6. Transfer the murabba to sterilized jars and store in the refrigerator for up to 1 month.
