Murgh Korma (creamy Chicken Korma)
Murgh Korma, also known as Creamy Chicken Korma, is a popular dish in Bangladeshi cuisine. It is a rich and flavorful chicken curry that is perfect for special occasions or a comforting family meal.
Ingredients
- 1 kg chicken, cut into pieces
- 1 cup yogurt
- 1 large onion, finely sliced
- 2 tbsp ghee (clarified butter)
- 1/2 cup cashew nuts, ground into a paste
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 tsp ginger paste
- 1 tsp garlic paste
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp garam masala
- Salt to taste
- Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix the yogurt, ginger paste, garlic paste, red chili powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, and salt.
- Marinate the chicken pieces in this mixture for 30 minutes.
- Heat ghee in a pan and sauté the sliced onions until golden brown.
- Add the marinated chicken and cook until the chicken is tender.
- Stir in the cashew nut paste and milk, and simmer for 5-7 minutes.
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves before serving.
