Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs (700g) boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 cup (240ml) plain yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon ginger garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/4 cup (60g) unsalted butter
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 2 teaspoons garam masala
  • 1 can (14 oz/400g) tomato puree
  • 1 cup (240ml) heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the chicken, yogurt, ginger garlic paste, ground cumin, ground coriander, cayenne pepper, turmeric, ground cardamom, ground cinnamon, and salt. Marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  2. In a large pan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook until softened.
  3. Add the marinated chicken to the pan and cook until the chicken is no longer pink.
  4. Sprinkle in the garam masala and pour in the tomato puree. Simmer for 15 minutes.
  5. Stir in the heavy cream and honey. Simmer for an additional 10 minutes.
  6. Garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.
