Ingredients

  • 1 kg chicken, cut into pieces
  • 2 onions, finely chopped
  • 3 tomatoes, pureed
  • 1/4 cup mustard oil
  • 1 teaspoon ginger paste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 2 teaspoons red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 2-3 green chilies, slit
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat mustard oil in a pan and add the chopped onions. Sauté until golden brown.
  2. Add the ginger and garlic paste, and cook for a few minutes.
  3. Now, add the chicken pieces and cook until they are slightly browned.
  4. Next, add the tomato puree, turmeric powder, red chili powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, and salt. Mix well and cook for 10-15 minutes.
  5. Pour in 2 cups of water, cover the pan, and let the chicken simmer until it is fully cooked and the gravy thickens.
  6. Garnish with slit green chilies and fresh coriander leaves before serving.
