Ingredients

  • 500g chicken, cut into pieces
  • 2 tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 2-3 green chilies, slit
  • 1-inch ginger, grated
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 tablespoon mustard oil
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat mustard oil in a pot and add the sliced onion. Sauté until golden brown.
  2. Add the chicken pieces, turmeric powder, and grated ginger. Cook for 5-7 minutes.
  3. Next, add the chopped tomatoes and green chilies. Cook for another 5 minutes.
  4. Pour in 4 cups of water, season with salt, and bring to a boil. Then, reduce the heat and let it simmer for 20-25 minutes.
  5. Once the chicken is cooked through, add lemon juice and garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
  6. Serve hot with steamed rice.
