Mushroom-Stuffed Dumplings (Sēņu pildīti pelmeņi)

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 cups chopped mushrooms
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix the flour, water, and salt to form a dough. Knead the dough for 5 minutes, then cover and let it rest for 15 minutes.
  2. In a pan, melt the butter and sauté the onions and garlic until fragrant. Add the mushrooms and cook until they release their moisture. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Roll out the dough on a floured surface and cut it into small circles. Place a spoonful of the mushroom mixture in the center of each circle, then fold and seal the edges to form dumplings.
  4. Boil the dumplings in salted water for 5-7 minutes, or until they float to the surface.
  5. Serve the dumplings with a dollop of sour cream on top.
