Mustang Mutton Curry
Mustang Mutton Curry is a traditional Nepalese dish that is rich in flavor and spices. This hearty and aromatic curry is perfect for a cozy dinner with family and friends.
Ingredients
- 500g mutton, cut into pieces
- 2 onions, finely chopped
- 3 tomatoes, pureed
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1-inch ginger, grated
- 2 green chilies, slit
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1/2 tsp garam masala
- 2 tbsp cooking oil
- Salt to taste
- Fresh cilantro for garnish
Instructions
- Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Once they splutter, add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
- Add minced garlic, grated ginger, and green chilies. Sauté for a few minutes.
- Now, add the mutton pieces and cook until they are browned on all sides.
- Stir in the pureed tomatoes, coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Cook until the oil separates from the masala.
- Pour in enough water to cover the mutton pieces, cover the pan, and let it simmer for about 45 minutes or until the mutton is tender.
- Sprinkle garam masala and garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.
