Ingredients
- 500g fish (rohu or catla)
- 4 tbsp mustard paste
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 2 green chilies, slit
- 1/2 cup water
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Clean and wash the fish thoroughly. Pat dry with a paper towel.
- In a bowl, mix the mustard paste, turmeric powder, and salt to form a smooth paste.
- Coat the fish pieces with the mustard paste mixture and let it marinate for 10 minutes.
- Heat oil in a pan and add the marinated fish pieces along with slit green chilies.
- Add water and cook covered for 15-20 minutes on medium heat until the fish is cooked and the gravy thickens.
- Serve hot with steamed rice.
