Ingredients
- 4 pieces of Hilsa fish
- 1 cup mustard paste
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 2 green chilies, sliced
- 1 tablespoon mustard oil
- 4 banana leaves, cut into 8x8 inch squares
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Marinate the Hilsa fish with mustard paste, turmeric powder, green chilies, mustard oil, and salt. Let it sit for 15 minutes.
- Place each marinated Hilsa fish piece on a banana leaf square and wrap it securely.
- Heat a pan on medium heat and place the wrapped fish parcels in the pan.
- Cover the pan and cook for 10-12 minutes on each side until the banana leaf turns slightly brown and the fish is cooked through.
- Remove from heat and serve hot with steamed rice.
