Mutta Fried Rice, also known as Chettinad Egg Fried Rice, is a flavorful and aromatic dish from the Chettinad region of Tamil Nadu, India. This dish is a perfect blend of spices, eggs, and rice, making it a delicious and satisfying meal.
Ingredients
- 3 cups cooked basmati rice
- 4 eggs
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 tomatoes, finely chopped
- 1 green chili, finely chopped
- 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 1/2 cup chopped coriander leaves
- Salt to taste
- 3 tbsp oil
Instructions
- Heat 2 tbsp oil in a pan and scramble the eggs. Remove and keep aside.
- In the same pan, add 1 tbsp oil and sauté the onions, green chili, and ginger-garlic paste until the onions turn golden brown.
- Add the tomatoes and cook until they turn mushy.
- Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala, and salt. Mix well.
- Add the cooked rice and scrambled eggs. Mix gently until well combined.
- Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot.
